Proposed Patch 1.07 Balance Changes

posted by Fenemarche on January 20th, 2009. There are 0 replies to this post: Write your own!

EA have given us an insight into some changes that we can expect in the forthcoming patch 1.07. The primary purpose of this patch seems to be to balance out the air dominance of Allies and to give Empire a better fighting chance before tier 3.

Suggested nerfs to the allied air include a speed nerf to the Apollo fighter, and perhaps most importantly a longer reload time for the Vindicator, more than doubling the amount of time between bombing runs.
Empire will receive some fixes to their Secret Protocols and a lower cost to reach tier 3, amongst some other changes.
They also won’t have to worry so much about Flakblade harassment now, as Twinblades receive a health nerf, and can now only transport 3 flak troopers each. On the positive side for soviets, the Conscript’s gun may now have some use as there is a proposed 25% damage increase to it.

Read all of the proposed changes here, as posted by an EA developer on the GameReplays forums. Bare in mind these are only the propsed changes at this stage, nothing is final!

Red Alert 3: Uprising

posted by Duke on January 10th, 2009. There are 0 replies to this post: Write your own!

The Red Alert 3 expansion ‘Uprising’ has been officially announced on the Official C&C site. However this looks a little different to the last few C&C expansions we’ve seen recently as it appears this will be a stand-alone game.

EA’s COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT 3 RETURNS WITH AN UPRISING

Epic Campaign Expansion for Award-Winning
Real-Time Strategy Favorite Hits PCs This March

The third iteration of the Command & Conquer franchise’s beloved Red Alert series is returning with Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising exclusively for the PC. An epic single-player campaign expansion, the standalone title catapults players deeper into the Red Alert universe, giving them more of the action-packed gameplay they have been clamoring for, while offering a gauntlet of new and compelling challenges with the new Commander’s Challenge mode. Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising will be available for digital download this March.

“Uprising is a game that in many ways reflects the feedback we have gotten from the Command & Conquer community,” said Amer Ajami, Senior Producer at EA Los Angeles. “We’re giving gamers more of what they want - more of the fast, fluid and fun gameplay, more of the story we began to tell in Red Alert 3 and more cutscenes featuring top-notch Hollywood talent. At the same time, we’re excited we’re going to be able to bring new things to the mix, including new units and the Commander’s Challenge, which is a great way for players to hone their skills and get deeper into the combat.”

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising takes players into the aftermath of the epic battles in Red Alert 3, with the Soviets still reeling from a crushing defeat, the Empire of the Rising Sun desperately trying to regain both honor and identity and the seemingly victorious Allies finding themselves in the midst of corruption and deceit within their own ranks. In addition to four mini-campaigns, one for each faction and one bonus campaign centered on the origins of the Empire of the Rising Sun’s commando Yuriko, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising will also introduce the new Commander’s Challenge, enabling the players to test their skills against a set of nine commanders from different territories and difficulty levels in 50 unique challenges with their own special rules and unique conditions.

In true Command & Conquer fashion, top Hollywood talent will be delivering the gripping story in full HD live-action cinematics. Fan favorites Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic will make their stunning return to the high ranks of the Allied and Soviet leaderships and will be joined by an all new set of stars, who will be announced soon.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising is a standalone game and does not require Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 to play. This product has not yet been rated by the ESRB, PEGI or USK. For more information about Red Alert 3, please stay tuned right here at RedAlert3.com.

CNCRA3.net Launched!

posted by Duke on December 17th, 2008. There are 0 replies to this post: Write your own!

launchTime is ever moving…often too quickly for the poor web master that has to keep up with it. But eventually - we get there and today it is my proud priviledge to announce to you the official launch of CNCRA3.net.

The site is powered by Wordpress which is primarily a blogging platform. Due to the nature of this site’s content however I decided it’d be a perfect engine to run CR3. As you look around the pages you’ll see that they are not all completed - there is still a lot of work to finish to get the website 100% created but we decided that we wanted to open it up to the public anyway.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we fine tune many things related to both site and forum. In the meantime, register in the Forums, check out our File and Map databases to keep yourself updated with the latest files for Red Alert 3 and subscribe to our RSS Feed for the latest in RA3 news. We plan to bring in a whole lot of new features over the coming weeks as we build up to the official mod tool releases so don’t go too far away.

The future of the Red Alert 3 community looks bright, let’s do it together!

That’s right! EA has released Patch 1.05 for C&C: Red Alert 3. This patch updates a few balance points in the game such as adding a new capture delay on Engineers and minimizing the effectiveness of allied airforce rushes. More importantly however, this patch includes the official DRM De-Authorization tool. This tool will allow you to easily deactivate your RA3 license key on computers if you have maxed out your five installs.

Even more importantly though, this patch includes the Official RA3 Worldbuilder!

The map editor will allow you to create your own Skirmish and Multiplayer maps for RA3 which is the first taste of moddability that’s gotten out for RA3. We will be endeavouring to get our own Mapping Tutorials online within the coming weeks. For those of you that want to start straight away, HERE’S a nice tutorial to get you started!
